They are seeking an Events and Programming Coordinator to conduct comprehensive event coordination for the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology, ensuring smooth-running educational and networking events while supporting student programming and communications.

Responsibilities
Assists with and/or executes all aspects of pre- and post-event coordination, identifying and helping to secure event locations, accommodations, parking/transportation, catering, and other vendors
Coordinates communications, monitors speaker and guest registration, and responds to speaker requests
Assists in processing event budgets, expenses, and reimbursements; identifies and resolves errors through timely reconciliation of post-event costs
Provides other event-related administrative support as needed
Supports the Director of Events and Engagement with reporting of event registration, attendance, and ROI, and other event metrics, as needed
Maintains a comprehensive events calendar, proactively identifying and resolving scheduling conflicts
Attends all events and provides comprehensive day-of operational support
Supports virtual events, when needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Works directly with, and under the supervision of, BCLT’s Executive Director to coordinate and execute BCLT’s extensive calendar of student programming and events, including but not limited to:
Organizing BCLT’s numerous recruiting fairs, career mixers, and networking opportunities
Supports relationships with BCLT’s sponsor law firm recruiters through regular communication and follow-up, to ensure firms' needs and expectations are being met
Providing reporting and feedback on activity and ROI, such as sponsor attendance
Promoting student events to the student community through usual channels- email, social media, printed material
Organizing the BCLT Certificate Program—curriculum outline, engagement, and awards ceremony
Providing guidance to student groups and facilitating student group activities
Supporting LLM programming, planning, and logistics
Coordinating the student handbook and law student resume book production
Fostering student engagement wherever possible
Coordinates an array of communication strategies designed to engage students, faculty, alumni, current and future sponsors, and the broader BCLT community. Activities include, but are not limited to:
Preparing written and visual materials
Creating targeted correspondences
Preparing and/or assisting in developing content for the website, B-CLE platform, and social media
Works directly with student assistants to coordinate projects and facilitate administrative functions, including communications, program support, database updates, and reporting
Co-facilitates and co-conducts student assistant interviews and onboarding every semester
Delegates work and oversees the successful completion of projects and other day-to-day tasks as assigned
Contributes to the maintenance and reporting capabilities of BCLT’s Salesforce and Monday databases, reporting on all outward-facing programs and related sponsor activities, and helping to maintain our customized database of contacts
Qualification
Required
Working knowledge of concepts, principles and practices of event planning and production and public relations
Solid organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate several projects simultaneously with demanding timeframes
Good judgment and effective decision-making and problem resolution skills, including the skill to recognize and deal effectively and appropriately with real and potential problem areas, including the skill to determine the issues/problems that need to be brought to the attention of higher level staff and/or management
Ability to work in a variety of groups, including but not limited to students, staff, faculty, general public, production personnel, technical operators and performing artists
Ability to work professionally under pressure and under tight deadlines ensuring excellent customer service support
Good computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and video/audio conferencing platforms
Must be familiar and comfortable using Zoom
Detail-oriented and able to work rapidly and accurately under deadline pressure in an interrupt-driven environment
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaborate with individuals and groups from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives
Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment that promotes collaboration and mutual respect among all members of the UC Berkeley community and its stakeholders
Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with and understand individuals from varied academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, and ethnic backgrounds
Highly effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills to successfully interact with a variety of constituents and present information in a manner that is appropriate for the needs of the audience
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively to solve problems and develop solutions
Ability to work occasional evenings and early mornings to prepare for and attend events
Ability to be a self-starter, to take initiative and work independently as well as on a team
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
Preferred
Working knowledge of and/or can quickly learn the campus, its programs, policies, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure
Knowledge and/or experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms
Demonstrated experience managing and planning events and outreach, including developing budgets, communication strategies, generating reports, tracking data and maintaining databases
