Responsibilities

Serve as key business partner working directly with AWS management and other internal stakeholders to provide strategic financial guidance
Prepare detailed financial models for business segments, drive business initiatives, and identify, implement, and deliver key operational efficiencies
Manage the financial planning process including modeling, analysis, and metrics that drive budgeting/forecasting and business decisions
Deliver accurate and impactful reporting on financial and operating metrics
Be an integral member in the monthly financial close process and perform ad hoc projects and analysis as needed
Analyze business results for key takeaways to achieve business objectives
Monitor compliance with controls and systems, and developing new processes to support the fast-growing, global AWS business

Qualification

Required

5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving

Preferred

6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
MBA, or CPA
