Sr. Administrative Assistant - Collection Specialist

The City of Fort Worth is one of the fastest growing large cities in the U.S., and they are seeking a Sr. Administrative Assistant - Collection Specialist to provide expert solutions to complex billing and collection problems while delivering exceptional customer service. This role will also support the implementation of a unified City-wide Accounts Receivable/Billing and Point of Sale system.

Responsibilities

Maintain master ERP customer database by performing various customer maintenance request
Perform research analysis and resolve complex customer service requests and disputes
Review and perform various AR activities that will include billing, payment application, refunds, write offs, customer maintenance, etc
Maintain and monitor aging of accounts and measure the debt recovery of various departments aging portfolio
Act as a liaison between FMS, Departments, and third-party agencies
Coordinate and execute collection activities (collection calls, past due correspondence, legal proceedings, etc.) to decrease delinquency rate
Work with internal Departments to design and implement collection plans and strategies to increase collection of aged receivables and eliminate bad debt expense
Collaborate with various internal departments and third-party agencies to continually evaluate and implement opportunities to enhance the efficiency of billing and collection related processes and procedures
Perform administrative duties and manage special projects, as assigned/required

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field
Three (3) or more years of billing, collection and customer service experience

Preferred

Knowledge of federal and state laws related to debt collections and code of ethics in collection practices
Extensive conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy
Aptitude for system maintenance and technical data analytics
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills
