Mechanical Engineer - Commissioning

Dewberry's Jackson, MS office is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our commissioning department as a Mechanical Engineer - Commissioning Agent. In this crucial technical role, you will provide technical, mechanical, and process management support for the commissioning department on a variety of projects spanning all markets and geographies served by the group.

Responsibilities

Execute commissioning services on a variety of project types
Actively support and coordinate with the entire commissioning team to execute projects and uphold our commitments
HVAC sequence of operation knowledge and capable of performing design review of Sequence of operation and creating mechanical system testing procedures, and testing the same in the field
Must have knowledge of manipulating, adjusting, setup and testing HVAC controls systems such as JCI, Trane, Automated Logic, Siemens, etc. Knowledge in multiple control systems is a plus
Must have complete working knowledge of HVAC chilled water and DX systems, including design, operation, and testing of: Chillers, Boilers, Cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, AHU, RTU, ERU, VAVs, exhaust, FCU, etc
Review air and water test and balance process, review a TAB reports, and identify issues
Visit client facilities and gather necessary data to test mechanical systems
Create system installation and testing documents
Be familiar with OSHA safety requirements and have the ability to identify deficiencies
Be familiar with building codes and have the ability to make intuitive decisions related to such
Read and understand building plans and specifications
Work safely around electrical systems up to 600 volts
Effectively communicate with all clients, construction trades, and design professionals
Have a high aptitude for abstract reasoning, assertiveness, thoroughness, and be very detail-oriented
Work flexible hours and work in hot or cold environments
Climb stairs, ladders, and use lift trucks. Do moderate lifting. Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc
Travel approximately 50% of the time

Required

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
Accomplished engineer with 8+ years of experience
Commissioning experience

Preferred

Commissioning process certification preferred or ability to acquire within first 6 months
Business development experience a plus
Professional Engineering License a plus or ability to acquire
