Responsibilities
Proactively identify exceptional founders who are a strong fit for Maker (via referrals, network, research, events, and inbound interest)
Reach out thoughtfully in a way that feels human, personal, and aligned with Maker’s voice
Act as an ambassador for Maker, clearly articulating our mission, values, and what makes the community special
Build genuine relationships with founders before, during, and after the application process
Manage founders through the recruitment and selection process end-to-end
Conduct introductory calls to assess fit, alignment, and intent
Partner closely with the CEO on final selection decisions
Maintain a high quality bar, optimizing for long-term community health over short-term growth
Track and manage applicant progress with strong attention to detail
Follow up with candidates thoughtfully and on time
Coordinate next steps for accepted members (onboarding, intros, handoffs)
Continuously improve recruitment messaging, sourcing channels, and outreach approach
Qualification
Required
Highly personable with high emotional intelligence (high-EQ)
Ability to identify and build relationships with exceptional founders
Experience in recruitment and outreach
Ability to articulate Maker's mission, values, and community
Strong attention to detail in tracking and managing applicant progress
Timely and thoughtful communication with candidates
Deep empathy for founders and understanding of their challenges
Strong internal compass for people, values, and long-term fit
Comfort operating with loose boundaries and clear goals
Ownership of Maker's reputation and community
Preferred
Experience in community building or similar roles
Familiarity with startup ecosystems
Network within the founder community
