2026-2027 Yearlong Disruption Management Intern

They are offering a Yearlong Disruption Management Internship that provides students with valuable work experience and professional development. Interns will work within the Scheduling and Service Planning department to prepare route data, improve disruption management processes, and conduct quality assurance on the AVL database.

Responsibilities
Prepare route geometry and stop data for special event reroutes as a part of the CTA Disruption Management program
Improve the disruption management process by refining stop locations in the Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) database
Conduct quality assurance to maintain the optimal condition of the AVL database
Qualification
Required
Required enrollment status: Full-time (as defined by your academic institution) in a degree program at an accredited college or university
Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good analytical and critical thinking skills
Proficient organizational skills with attention to detail
Good project management skills
Strong ability to read and comprehend SQL statements
Experience with Python, JavaScript, and Oracle
Strong Statistical Analysis Skills
The demands associated with the normal office environment
Must be able to comply with office policy to work on-site twice per week
Light physical activity, including walking outdoors and climbing stairs
Preferred
Preferred Major(s): Computer Science, Urban Planning, Geographic Information System, Operations Research, Mathematics
Preferred Level of Education: College senior and above
Knowledge in Transit Operation Experience with ArcGIS and Hastus is preferred
