Responsibilities
Prepare and process plant tissue samples according to established laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures
Perform loop mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) assays for vineyard pathogen detection
Maintain a clean, organized, and contamination-controlled laboratory workspace
Conduct routine laboratory analyses, as assigned
Handle, label, store, and dispose samples and reagents in accordance with laboratory requirements
Accurately record test results and associated metadata to ensure traceability and data integrity
Assist with data entry, basic summaries, and organization of analytical results
Support ongoing R&D and viticulture research activities as needed
Qualification
Required
Basic laboratory skills
Ability to work in a laboratory environment and follow established safety practices
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Basic analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Valid driver's license and insurance
Willingness to stand and walk on uneven, sloped terrain and hillside for extended periods
Willingness to grasp, stoop, carry and crouch
Ability to accurately distinguish colors
Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds
Ability to work overtime, as needed, pre-dawn or late hours
Benefits
$1.00 per hour bonus for each day worked (anticipated up to 100 days)
