Payroll Analyst
Wimmer Solutions is seeking a Payroll Analyst responsible for performing payroll functions for US and Canadian payroll. The role involves ensuring payroll processes are accurate and compliant with regulations, as well as serving as a liaison to internal partners and external vendors.
Responsibilities
Performs analytical tasks in preparation and facilitation of biweekly transmit (pre-audits, post-audits, file upload monitor, resolving errors and discrepancies, payroll totals review)
Collect and validate payroll inputs, including time entry adjustments, bonus and incentive payments, additional payments, and deductions
Expert level analysis and complex case resolution (level 3 escalations)
Reconcile and audit various payroll related activities and investigate variances, then train/coach Payroll Specialists on how to take corrective action
Troubleshooting complex employee pay-related inquiries
Ongoing training for payroll team on existing payroll processes and new compliance requirements
Research and resolve accounting variances resulting from Payroll Transmit
Create and maintain payroll process documentation
Assist with integration of new services. This includes analysis, development and testing of new services as well as the documentation and delivery of training and support materials
Maintain payroll processing checklist. Reviews and make appropriate updates to processing checklist as appropriate
Supports cross-function teams to ensure payroll system maintenance
Administration of all payroll reports and dashboards
Qualification
Required

Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, Science, or equivalent combination of work experience is required
Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience with multi-state payroll, payroll tax and garnishment administration
Knowledge of current HR and Payroll regulations (FLSA, wage and hour compliance, payroll tax compliance, taxable benefits and cafeteria 125 plans, final pay and pay statements compliance)
Advanced knowledge and understanding of complex gross to net payroll check calculations
Experience with computerized payroll and timekeeping applications is required, UKG Pro highly preferred
Seeks innovative ways to improve payroll processes or procedures. Is able to train others on improved processes
Ability to own and complete complex and sensitive projects, as needed
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and changing priorities in a dynamic environment
Ability to work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices to determine appropriate action
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate technical information effectively with all levels of management
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, with high proficiency in Excel
Exhibits a can do attitude to support changes in priorities and work processes
Preferred
CPP certification or equivalent experience proving advanced payroll compliance knowledge is preferred
Exposure to payroll system integration is preferred
