Business Development Director

The Business Development Director will manage client relationships, lead strategic initiatives, and ensure successful delivery of consulting engagements, particularly in the federal contracting sector.

Responsibilities
Manage primary client relationships and serve as a point of contact for key accounts
Co-lead client meetings including discovery sessions, status reviews, and strategic presentations with government stakeholders and executive leadership
Develop and deliver client-facing materials including pitch decks, capability statements, market research reports, and strategic recommendations
Execute business development initiatives focused on relationship cultivation, account growth, and selective new business pursuits within the federal contracting sector
Monitor and analyze evolving DoW, DHS, DOE, and Intelligence Community priorities to inform market positioning and client strategy
Oversee operational functions including CRM management, proposal coordination, and contract tracking
Provide direction and review deliverables from junior team members to ensure quality and timeliness
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated experience in government contracting, business development, or client relationship management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
Proven ability to engage effectively with senior government officials, military leadership, and executive stakeholders
Knowledge of contemporary technology trends, particularly artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in government
Ability to work on-site in McLean, VA as part of a hybrid work arrangement
Self-directed work style with strong execution capabilities
Preferred
Familiarity with DHS, DOW, and/or Intelligence Community operations and procurement processes
Professional experience in consulting
Understanding of the federal contracting landscape and relevant acquisition vehicles
