10+ years expZachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to support a large federal program responsible for maintaining enterprise hosting, network, security, and identity services. The Network Engineer will ensure stability, security, and performance across hybrid Azure and on-prem environments.

Responsibilities
Provide 24x7x365 infrastructure operations support and participate in an on‑call rotation
Support hybrid environments across Azure cloud and on‑prem datacenters
Deliver Network, Security, DNS, DHCP, VOIP, Identity & Access Management, and Server Operations tasks as part of the team’s Statement of Work
Review and analyze monitoring tools to identify trends and proactively prevent service disruptions
Recommend process improvements and cost‑efficient enhancements for future projects
Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software supporting enterprise IT infrastructure
Provide operational support for Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus, VPN, PKI, and Citrix technologies
Support patch management, vulnerability remediation, and security compliance activities
Perform performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting across network infrastructure
Respond to issues at Rockville or Sterling data centers as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field (four additional years of experience may substitute for degree)
10+ years of related IT infrastructure or network engineering experience
6+ years of experience supporting hybrid Azure/on‑prem hosting environments
Hands‑on experience with: Network Infrastructure Operations, Azure Networking, Administration and Patch Management, Vulnerability Remediation, Security Compliance, Performance Monitoring and Tuning, Cisco Catalyst and Cisco Nexus, Citrix, VPN, PKI
Ability to support a 24x7x365 environment and serve in an on‑call rotation
Ability to respond onsite to Rockville or Sterling data centers
Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust and pass a government background investigation
Preferred
Experience with ServiceNow
SolarWinds or similar monitoring platforms
Out‑of‑Band (OOB) management
LAN/WAN/MAN environments
IPv6
OSPF and BGP routing
QoS configuration and troubleshooting
