RENEWABLE ENERGY JUNIOR/MID-LEVEL REAL ESTATE ATTORNEY

Clean Energy Counsel is a mission-driven law firm dedicated to accelerating the world’s transition away from fossil fuels, seeking to hire a highly qualified junior/mid-level Real Estate associate. The role involves assisting senior attorneys in all aspects of real estate transactions, including conducting due diligence, drafting legal documents, and coordinating the closing process.

Responsibilities

Support our team on Real Estate transactions in the renewable energy field
Review title and survey for potential projects
Draft and review leases, easements, purchase agreements, and other ancillary agreements
Collaborate with clients, CEC colleagues, and other professionals on Real Estate matters
Coordinate and lead Real Estate due diligence reviews and transactional documentation
Adhere to Firm policies, practices, and priorities
Perform other duties as requested by Firm management

Required

3-5 years' experience in the Real Estate practice of a recognized national or regional law firm and a demonstrated interest in and desire to serve the clean energy industry
Hands on experience leading due diligence, reviewing title and survey, drafting ancillary agreements and supporting transactional work
Strong deal management, organization, drafting, communication, negotiation and analytical skills
Proficiency in legal research and drafting
Ability to work independently and with a team
Ability to work and collaborate effectively in a remote work environment
Admission to and in good standing with the Bar of the applicant's state of residence
Dedication to the firm's mission

Preferred

Experience working on Real Estate and related transactions in the clean energy industry
Knowledge of and experience with areas of federal, state and local law and regulation applicable to the clean energy transition

1,200 annual billable hour requirement, with hourly bonus for exceeding such requirement
