SAP Materials & Continuous Improvement Specialist

They are seeking an SAP Materials & Continuous Improvement Specialist to lead the implementation and optimization of SAP S/4HANA modules, ensuring data-driven decision-making and inventory accuracy while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Lead the implementation and optimization of SAP S/4HANA modules related to the Materials function, including MRP, MM, IM, WM, DSPC, and IBP
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy planning strategies aligned with business goals
Identify and resolve process gaps related to master data, BOM accuracy, lead times, and capacity planning
Leverage SAP tools to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve on-time delivery
Monitor key KPIs (e.g., schedule adherence, inventory turns, forecast accuracy) using SAP analytics and reporting tools
Facilitate workshops to define current vs. future-state processes and ensure alignment with SAP capabilities
Partner with IT and external consultants to ensure system configurations support best practices and scalability
Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess system adoption and identify further optimization opportunities
Support inventory control and material flow initiatives in collaboration with the Materials Manager
Assist in procurement process improvements and supplier performance tracking
Contribute to cost reduction and inventory optimization efforts
Provide backup support for planning and purchasing activities
Help maintain accurate master data and support cycle counting and inventory audits
Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to drive continuous improvement
Support change management efforts, including training and documentation
Contribute to building a culture of accountability and data-driven decision-making
Prepare for future leadership responsibilities within the Materials or Supply Chain function

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Information Systems; Master's degree a plus
5–7 years of experience in SAP implementation, continuous improvement, or materials/supply chain roles
Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA, particularly in MRP, MM, IM, WM, and planning modules
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a matrixed organization and influence across functions

Preferred

Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) preferred
Experience in manufacturing or production environments is highly desirable
