Project Manager
PM2CM, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and organized Project Manager for electrical infrastructure projects with one of the largest utility companies in Southern California. The role focuses on improving project success rates by applying project management principles and managing multiple projects effectively.
Responsibilities
Achieve results through individual efforts and collaboration with matrixed teams
Identify problems and develop solutions; contribute to project objectives, timelines, risks, milestones, deliverables, and budgets
Resolve issues and conflicts among team members, escalating complex issues to the Program Manager as needed; ensure task completion by clarifying priorities
Evaluate, analyze, and communicate facts, practices, and policies to team members
Create presentations for internal and external contacts
Stay informed about utility regulatory processes and compliance regulations
Use discretion to advise and recommend actions on moderately complex projects in collaboration with the Project Manager
Apply in-depth knowledge of project management principles to support project needs
Actively address project team needs, send reminders, and communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with PMs, department management, outside agencies, internal stakeholders, and project teams
Recognize and act on verbal cues in meetings, such as action items and requests
Lead and manage activities for approximately 25-30 projects, ensuring successful execution and outcomes
Directly involve yourself in tasks essential for project success, from identifying problems to implementing solutions
Collaborate to set project objectives, timelines, risk assessments, milestones, deliverables, and budgets
Resolve issues and ensure task completion by setting priorities and managing conflicts with team members, functional managers, and commercial customers
Understand core project management concepts and quickly learn new processes and portfolio specifics
Use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint) effectively
Be knowledgeable in SAP and Primavera P6, with advanced Excel skills for data manipulation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in an applicable profession, business, or technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Minimum of 7 years of project management experience, preferably in a consulting environment
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, advance Excel and Projects, Primavera P6, and SAP
Preferred
Utility experience
Construction management experience
Project Management Professional certification
Experience in Grid software, like Grid Technical Tool, that is used to model and optimize power grids
Experience with Copperleaf
