Clinical Research Coordinator

The University of Utah's Division of Urology is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to assist with the operations of both Adult and Pediatric Urology clinical research programs. The role involves overseeing research procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing data for urology projects.

Responsibilities

Overseeing research and administrative procedures
Ensuring compliance with hospital, state, federal and regulatory policies and procedures including patient consent (when applicable)
Perform data acquisition and entry for prospective urology projects
Help design, implement and direct research projects
Screen potential research participants and coordinate patient follow-up for enrolled subjects
Obtain informed consent/assent from research subjects and/or parents/guardians
Help to develop and implement research quality control procedures including data collection and data management tools (e.g. case report forms, databases, and data entry and cleaning systems)
Ensure the accuracy and validity of data entered in databases
Assist in the creation, editing, and submission of IRB protocols
Participate in aspects of grant submissions and reporting in consultation with Investigators and clinical trials officers

Required

Bachelors degree in a health sciences or related field or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience)
two years professional research experience
completion of University RATS Clinical Certification within one year of hire
Exceptional organizational skills
attention to detail
demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills
A Bachelor's or higher-level degree in Biology, Public Health, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or a closely related field plus at least 3 years of clinical research experience

Preferred

Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices, FDA, HIPAA and IRB regulations
an understanding of research procedures
the ability to function independently
Departments may require IRB CITI Course or IATA DGR training within a specified timeframe
Departments may prefer a nursing degree for this position, which requires the incumbent to have two years related experience and possess a nationally recognized research compliance certification
