Responsibilities
Test, prototype and implement network orchestration solutions to create a routing/switching framework for ground gateways
Create and maintain network models to predict performance and identify optimization opportunities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network capabilities into broader systems and applications
Analyze network performance and troubleshoot complex issues across distributed systems
Implement security best practices and protocols to protect network infrastructure
Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and solutions to enhance network capabilities and performance
Understand the implications of network planning on spacecraft operations and design accordingly
Key contributor to technical discussions on networking solutions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, or related technical field
5+ years of experience in ground network design, implementation, test or engineering
Experience with datacenter network connectivity implementation, telco/cellular backhaul and Points of Presence (PoPs)
Experience with networking and network protocols
Experience with testing and implementing software-defined networking solutions
Experience with network modeling and simulation tools
Proficiency in developing and maintaining network diagrams and technical documentation
Preferred
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
10+ years of experience in network architecture with focus on routing
Experience with networking and network protocols including MEF, SD-WAN, BGP, MPLS, SRv6, L2 VPNs, L3 VPNs
Experience with networking for constrained links such as 3GPP and satellite networks
Knowledge of network operations and constraints as they relate to satellite communications systems
Familiarity with network function virtualization and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Background in aerospace or defense industries
Certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent advanced networking certifications
Knowledge of emerging multi-domain networking standards and technologies
