Regional Operations Manager

Responsibilities
Facilitates and drives process development, training programs and procedural efficiencies, including the development of processes and the oversight of procedural implementation
Oversee the continual review and refinement of operational processes and procedures
Develop, implement, and monitor Standard Operating Policies and Procedures
Work with the Regional and local Automation production personnel to establish best practices that improve efficiencies and meet customer expectations
Partner with local and regional warehouse management personnel to monitor performance in key areas – receiving, shipping, material storage and freight delivery to internal/external customers
Monitor inventory cycle count progress to ensure all items are counted according to company policy
Coordinate with regional and local branch operations personnel to provide management coverage for internal and external audits – ISO, inventory counts, safety, and quality
Manage and monitor operational costs using operational metrics and recurring reports
Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environment policies are followed and required safety training is completed per company policy
Ensures operational processes and procedures are adhered to by personnel to meet quality standards
Lead and/or participate in regional and local operations meetings, as well as cross functional meetings to foster teamwork and develop efficiencies across the region
Review the Branch metrics to monitor the overall health of the operational areas
Develops training materials and schedules/conducts training on operations functions
Creates reference manuals and job aids
Partner with Human Resources and EHS management personnel to ensure regional operations personnel have received proper training
Qualification
Required
Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline
Generally 7+ year's experience in related field
May require certification
Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines
Experience analyzing continuous quality improvement (CQI) needs and opportunities and implementing responsive strategies, procedures, and performance metrics
Working knowledge of industrial products, including valves, pipe, fittings, and flanges, with the ability to support operational, inventory, and customer-facing decisions
Proven experience managing and developing teams in a fast-paced, operational environment, including coaching, performance management, and accountability
Ability to operate as a regional leader with a local focus, supporting a single branch for extended periods while maintaining alignment with regional and corporate objectives
Strong understanding of branch operations, including safety, inventory control, logistics, workflow optimization, and customer service
Demonstrated ability to standardize processes while remaining flexible to branch-specific operational needs
Experience driving safety, compliance, and operational excellence in warehouse, distribution, or industrial supply environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable operational improvements
Effective communicator capable of working cross-functionally with sales, operations, safety, and leadership teams
Proficiency with ERP systems, operational reporting, and Microsoft tools (Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
