Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive legal support for Motion Business Area projects, including EPC contract lifecycle management—tender, negotiation, execution, dispute resolution, and closure
Lead contract drafting, review, and negotiation, ensuring terms protect company interests and align with business objectives
Advise on diverse legal matters, including competition law, data privacy (GDPR), product liability, employment, investigations, claims, and integrity issues, while collaborating with internal stakeholders and global legal teams
Contribute to team development and knowledge sharing, mentoring colleagues and actively participating in regional and global Legal & Integrity initiatives and projects

Required

Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school with active bar admission and minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), with exposure to international legal, commercial, and regulatory matters
Proven expertise in contract negotiation, drafting, and management, particularly for complex commercial and project-related agreements, with strong skills suited for an international environment
Broad legal experience in corporate law, commercial contracts, distributor/partner agreements, government contracting, compliance, intellectual property, risk management, and familiarity with digital law (SaaS, cybersecurity, AI, data privacy)
Strong collaboration and communication abilities, with a track record of building relationships across functions and mentoring junior legal professionals; proactive and adaptable in multicultural settings
Highly organized and independent, capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure with a practical, hands-on mindset and excellent problem-solving skills
Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
