Responsibilities
Assist and gain work experience in inspecting components, assemblies, tooling, weldments and materials of various geometric configurations and processes as specified and randomly for compliance with established customer and NG specifications and standards. Assist in identifying and tagging defective parts, materials and incorrect processes with appropriate inspection documentation
Obtain work experience under the direct supervision of a Level II or Level III performing various non-destructive tests on a wide variety of metallic and non‑metallic materials to determine quality and soundness of material being inspected. Utilizing Visual Inspection (VT), Magnetic Particle (MT) dry and wet powder methods and Dye Penetrant (PT) testing and other NDT methods and equipment
May advise Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Production, Purchasing and Supplier personnel of quality problems and conditions, and assist in preventing the recurrence of defects by performing appropriate follow-up, inspection and evaluation activities under the direct supervision and direction of a Level II or Level III
Trainees shall not independently conduct tests. Trainees shall not make accept or reject decisions. Trainees shall not independently perform any other NDT functions
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
May perform similar or lower classified work as required
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent GED
US citizenship is required
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred
Documented prior NDT classroom training
Documented prior NDT on the job training
