The Unit Secretary is responsible for providing administrative support in the delivery room, assisting patients, managing communication, and coordinating care services within the department.

Responsibilities
Assisting patients when they arrive at the department for care
Fielding phone calls to the unit
Maintaining, filing and organizing patient records
Working with other departments to coordinate care services
Managing office/medical supplies for the department
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred
Recent acute care experience
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
