Intern: Summer 2026 - Assembly & Test Automation (Onsite)

Pratt & Whitney is a leader in aerospace and defense, seeking an Assembly & Test Automation Intern to work on complex automation problems. The intern will collaborate with automation integrators and support teams to troubleshoot and improve automation processes on the assembly floor.

Responsibilities

Work with PLCs and Robots to troubleshoot issues on the assembly floor
Make suggestions on Ignition! and HMI screens to improve operator
Identify root cause of issues and create actions to correct the issues
Work with automation integrators to develop and deploy automation initiatives on the shop floor
Report on down time and corrective actions being taken to management

Required

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems
Enrolled in a degree program in Engineering

Preferred

Knowledge of PLCs and ladder logic, specifically Allen Bradley Studio 5000 and Siemens STEP7
Knowledge of Robotics, specifically FANUC
Knowledge of the Ignition platform
Project management skills to be able to drive projects to closure
Public speaking to be able to convey issues to management
Minimum GPA of 3.0
