Responsibilities
Process biweekly and/or weekly payroll in an accurate and timely manner, including reviewing and resolving payroll errors, preparing payroll-related journal entries, and completing monthly reconciliation of payroll accounts within the general ledger
Collaborate closely with Human Resources and other internal stakeholders to provide guidance and support to ensure payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with applicable policies and deadlines; serve as the primary liaison between operating units and the payroll processing service, as appropriate
Compile, review, and verify payroll data to ensure timely and accurate required reporting, including but not limited to biweekly tax deposits, quarterly payroll tax filings, and annual W-2 processing
Review and process payroll master file changes to ensure appropriate approvals are obtained and maintain the integrity and accuracy of employee payroll records
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
3-5 years of payroll processing experience, preferably supporting large employee populations and both biweekly and weekly payroll cycles
Experience with payroll taxes, wage and hour compliance, and year-end reporting (including W-2 processing)
Experience reconciling payroll data and payroll-related general ledger accounts
Must successfully complete background checks
Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP or similar) and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines
Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with employees, HR, Finance, and operational staff to address payroll-related questions and resolve issues
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
