Mechanical Control Units Design Engineer

Responsibilities
Own the responsibility for a package of mechanical control units on an existing platform, looking after performance and reliability
Drive the coordination of effort with various suppliers to quickly resolve technical, manufacturing and supply chain issue
Investigate in-service issues, driving the efforts to find root cause and determine corrective action
Review and disposition non-conforming material, identify cost or reliability improvements, and process design changes to improve component reliability
Advocate for the component suppliers through internal gated design reviews, overseeing any new qualification efforts that are driven by design changes
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 1+ years of experience in mechanical design or control systems, OR
Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, OR
PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen
Preferred
2+ years of mechanical design experience
Experience with control systems hardware design
Experience with change management and risk management processes
Experience with Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving techniques
Knowledge of RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 environmental testing standards
