Lead Specialist, Operations

Responsibilities

Supervising daily operations activities of the Deposit Operations team
Ensure Deposit Operations team has adequate resources to meet the daily tasks and processing needs to guarantee customer service levels are maintained
Responsible for hiring, coaching, and development of direct reports, to include evaluating work performance, conducting annual review, and resolving issues
Maintain an understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements and guidelines pertaining to processes and services within the Deposit Operations areas to ensure department policy and procedures conform, appropriately
Responsible for evaluating department procedures and processes as well as enhancing them to appropriately address changes in regulation, compliance requirements, processing efficiencies, and fraud mitigation/risk management techniques
Routinely apply conceptual thinking and analytical skills to evaluate processes, procedures, and complex situations to provide guidance, make recommendations, and/or escalate issues
Responsible for identifying areas of needed coaching and/or instruction for direct reports to assist with problem solving, strengthening skill sets, and task completion
Proactively provide assistance to customers and direct reports with troubleshooting of online banking inquires, system processing errors, account maintenance and adjustments, and debit card related matters to seek resolution and/or escalate, accordingly
Assist Management in responding to internal/external audits, examinations, and risk assessments for Deposit Operations
Provides support to internal and external customers to resolve operational issues
Monitor bulletins/emails from third-party vendors, such as FIS, for information regarding product enhancements, service disruptions, new features, etc., and communicate to management and team members, appropriately
Serve in a back-up capacity for Deposit Operations functions, as necessary
Assists with and/or conducts department meetings
Responsible for managing and performing Deposit Operations function/tasks to include, but not limited to, sweep rate changes, ACH approval transmittals, garnishment orders and subpoenas, tax levy’s and warrants, and annual escheatment process
Performs various tasks in the bank’s card management system
Other tasks as assigned from time to time by supervisor or other member of management

Required

High School diploma or equivalent, additional education a plus
Three to five years of Deposit Operations experience, supervisory experience preferred
Must be a self-starter with the ability to collaborate with the team and bring innovative ideas
Superior communications skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally at all levels of the organization
Exhibits a high degree of professionalism
Maintain high degree of confidentiality and integrity
Excellent follow through and time management skills
Strong attention to details
Excellent organizational skills
Must exhibit good business acumen
Ability to multi-task and problems solve
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
