Account/Sales Manager

Jessie Lord Bakery is seeking an Account/Sales Manager who will work cooperatively with company staff and outside brokers to deliver exceptional customer and sales support while meeting and increasing sales objectives. The role involves managing profitable growth of assigned accounts, developing key business relationships, and assisting in new product development among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Inside Sales - Manage profitable growth and development of assigned accounts, increasing account penetration and customer engagement
Outside Sales – Develop and maintain key business relationships with new customers resulting in a consistent and growing revenue stream
Broker Management – Manage their broker network. This includes also strategizing with them on how to best manage the customer, vetting and selecting new brokers when necessary
Sales Strategy - Develop sales strategies, present them to management and implement them with customers' key decision-makers
New Product Development - Assist in ideation of new products sometimes on their own and other times in conjunction with customers and work cross-functionally with R&D toward their creation
Sales Projections - Develop accurate monthly forecasts to provide to planning team
Reporting and Analytics- Tracks, analyzes and reports sales performance against volume, promotions, and other key metrics
Competitive Research – Develop a key understanding of the competitive landscape through store checks and market research, and using resources like customers and broker network
Sales Operations - Support functions involving pre- and post-order management issues. This includes reviewing the production plan to review when orders will be available to ship, re-building orders when necessary, and responding to changes due to production scheduling or logistical issues. This is usually done in conjunction with their assigned customer service representative
Company Knowledge - Develop a competent level of understanding of products, production process and capabilities as well as use of the internal system (i.e. Syspro, Access, etc.)
People Management – Effectively manage their assigned customer service representative, providing training, direction and performance guidance aligned with account needs and assigned job responsibilities
Cross-functional Management – Effectively manage cross functional departments (i.e. Quality Assurance, HR, etc.) to ensure customer requests are met on a timely basis (i.e. customer audits, fact sheet requests, insurance, etc.)
All employees are required to immediately report and assist in the elimination or control of any food safety issues they observe to their supervisor
Monitors and enforces cGMPs
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Pre-requisite programs

Required

Minimum of 5 years of In-store bakery sales experience
25% - 30% travel required or as needed
Able to prepare sales presentations
Must be available to travel to the Production Plant (Torrance, CA) for training, required meetings and during peak season if needed
Computer literate; Microsoft suite
Broker management and selection
Private label product
Knowledge of the West/Midwest market
In-store Bakery
Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 lbs

Preferred

Experience in highly seasonal/high volume environment preferred
BA/BS degree preferred or a combination of experience
