Applied Scientist, RL post-training
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform, seeking an Applied Scientist to work on Reinforcement Learning post-training of frontier Large Language Models. The role involves developing innovative solutions to enhance capabilities and improve customer service, while collaborating with technology and business teams to address real-world challenges.

Responsibilities
Develop innovative solutions to hard problems
Publish findings at peer reviewed conferences and journals
Qualification
Required
PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning
Experience in Postgres, or experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities and experience in Linux/RHEL
Preferred
Experience with popular deep learning frameworks such as MxNet and Tensor Flow
First authored publications on the topic of LLM post-training in top-tier AI conferences such as Neurips, ICML, ACL, etc
