Fairview Health Services is hiring an ECMO Specialist to join their team at the University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank in Minneapolis, MN. The ECMO Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of ECMO and mechanical circulatory support, ensuring optimal patient care through expert clinical judgment and technical skills.

Responsibilities

Providing Mechanical Circulatory and Extracorporeal Life Support to patients of all ages

Practicing at the level of an expert practitioner in nursing or respiratory care

Assembling, monitoring, and conducting assessment of all extracorporeal life support equipment, circuitry, and adjunct therapies used (ie: ultrafiltration, continues A-V hemodialysis, etc.)

Participating in the evaluation of new equipment and implementation of new technology

Mentoring and participating in the training of new ECMO Specialists and ECMO trained nurses

Collaborating with the physician and healthcare team in the delivery of patient care

Communicating effectively with all health care team members

Providing excellent customer service by listening and understanding customer needs

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's in Nursing (BSN) OR Graduate from a CoARC or JCRTE approved program in Respiratory Therapy and a Bachelor's Degree

3 years critical care experience

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Minnesota RN License OR Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

Preferred

5 years critical care experience

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 1 year of hire

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 1 year of hire
