Legal Intern
PropyLaw is a legal-tech platform helping real estate professionals generate ready-to-sign, state-compliant contracts in minutes. As a Legal Intern, you will support the Legal Team by researching state landlord–tenant requirements and translating them into compliance outputs, directly impacting product templates and checklists.
Responsibilities
Research state landlord–tenant statutes and lease-related disclosures (starting with Texas, then additional states)
Identify required clauses, disclosures, notice periods, and addenda commonly needed for compliant leases
Create clear summaries and checklists that can be used inside PropyLaw templates
Support template QA by flagging ambiguities, missing items, and compliance risks
Document sources and maintain a clean record of citations/links for verification
Provide a brief daily update: what you completed today, hours worked, and priorities for tomorrow
Qualification
Required
Current law student or pre-law student (or strong legal research experience)
Comfortable reading statutes and summarizing requirements clearly
Organized, detail-oriented, and consistent with deadlines
Strong writing skills and ability to create structured checklists
Interest in legal-tech, real estate law, compliance, or contracts
Preferred
Google Docs/Sheets, Notion, Slack, basic familiarity with contract templates
