Dual Credit Support Specialist -Guidance and Counseling - School Year 2025-2026

Spring Branch Independent School District is seeking a Dual Credit Support Specialist to support students in the College Academy and Early College Programs at the HCC campus. The role involves providing assistance to students taking classes, managing enrollment data, and collaborating with staff to ensure smooth operations of dual credit courses.

Responsibilities

Provide support for students who are taking classes at HCC - Spring Branch
Work collaboratively with the administrative assistant to schedule buses for dual credit courses
Communicate bus schedule changes to students and staff in a timely manner
Manage the Early College Program/RISE check-in form and update data tabs as necessary
Attend Early College Program check-in meetings via Zoom and provide updates as needed
Work with dual credit software to maintain student records
Compile and share a list of enrollment issues with the Dual Credit Team
Collect and track course-related information from students (e.g., textbooks, finals, instructor absences)
Support the Dual Credit Team with data entry and program documentation (scholarship spreadsheet, T-2-4 data, financial aid codes in Skyward)
Organize and assemble materials and resources to enhance the knowledge of all participants in the college access process
Establish and maintain positive rapport with Houston Community College (HCC) instructors
Communicate any outstanding student issues or challenges to the Dual Credit Team for follow-up
Troubleshoot student concerns and escalate as appropriate
Monitor and report morning and afternoon attendance for dual credit students
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Two or more years of relevant professional experience may be substituted for an associate's degree
Minimum Assessment Standard: Broad knowledge of MS Word and basic knowledge of MS Excel
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and student information systems (e.g., Skyward)
Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and external partners
Previous experience working in a student support role
2-years' experience working in a K-12 or higher-ed educational setting may be substituted for an associate's degree
