Responsibilities
Independently underwrite FHA and VA loans in accordance with agency and investor guidelines
Render final credit decisions and sign off on FHA and VA loan files
Review income, assets, credit, and collateral with a strong command of agency requirements
Issue clear, accurate conditions and maintain consistent underwriting quality
Partner closely with processors and operations to drive loans to clear-to-close
Maintain strong turn times while upholding credit and compliance standards
Qualification
Required
Current FHA Direct Endorsement (DE) authority
Active VA underwriting authority (SAR) with recent hands-on VA underwriting
3+ years of recent retail underwriting experience with a strong FHA/VA concentration
Demonstrated ability to underwrite FHA and VA loans without escalation
Solid understanding of agency AUS findings, overlays, and documentation standards
Ability to work full-time, in office in Chandler, AZ
Preferred
Conventional underwriting experience
Experience working in a retail, in-office underwriting environment
