Sr. Process Engineer
Corning Incorporated is a leading innovator in glass, ceramic, and materials science. They are seeking a Senior Process Engineer who will leverage manufacturing processes and problem-solving methods to drive improvements and enhance operational efficiency across various projects within the organization.

Responsibilities
Lead and support the design and development of new processes or improvement to existing processes at Corning facilities worldwide
Lead yourself and teams towards solving problems and improving processes based on fundamental understanding and structured problem solving methods such as KT, Designed Experimentation, or Six Sigma
Lead the implementation of Process Control and Process Discipline systems into manufacturing operations, as well as, use your analytical skills to analyze process data using statistical tools (e.g. pareto, regression, time charting, analysis of variance, gauge R&R, etc.)
Other responsibilities include measuring and communicating performance against established objectives, reviewing and interpreting data to make recommendations on immediate actions, long term corrective actions, follow-up experiments, etc., and documenting processes and mentoring operators and peers on defined processes
Qualification
Required
We require a minimum of BS in chemical, materials, ceramic or mechanical engineering (MS preferred) and 5+ years hands-on experience in engineering/manufacturing with a track record of successfully solving process problems based on fundamental understanding
Demonstrated use of scientific method and engineering principles to solve problems thoroughly and effectively, using well-designed and executed processes and experiment plans
Ability to determine and recommend best solution from a series of alternatives within production facility guidelines
Strong data analysis and statistical skills; Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Minitab, or equivalent
Basic process capability / run charting and trend charting experience
Deep knowledge of Process excellence
Experience completing projects in a manufacturing organization – including communication (written and verbal to leadership) and appropriate documentation
Able to collaborate across organizational boundaries and integrate solutions
Preferred
Knowledge of Corning's businesses
Prior experience in a plant or division engineering group
Strong internal Corning network
Performance Excellence training - ideally, green belt or higher certification - LEAN Manufacturing
PMP certification
Mechanical aptitude/equipment understanding
