InternSuperior Essex is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Tax Intern to support their tax team during the summer. This internship provides hands-on exposure to state and federal tax compliance, tax accounting, and cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities
Assist with state and federal income tax return preparation
Support preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns
Help prepare and analyze state apportionment schedules
Assist with preparation and analysis of federal tax workpapers and quarterly tax accounting processes
Conduct tax research and summarize findings
Organize and maintain tax files and supporting documentation
Investigate federal/state notice issues and prepare responses
Collaborate with the tax team and other departments on ongoing projects, including process improvement (e.g., workpaper automation and data visualization) and federal/state audit support
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related field (including data-focused)
Interest in taxation, accounting, or corporate finance
Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
