Responsibilities
Oversee Shipping Operations: The manager is responsible for coordinating daily shipping and distribution activities, ensuring that all products are shipped and delivered in a timely manner
Staff Management: This role includes hiring, training, and supervising shipping department employees. The manager ensures that staff are well-trained and motivated to perform their duties effectively
Logistics Coordination: The shipping manager collaborates with various departments to optimize shipping processes, manage shipping documents, and track orders using logistics software
Budget Management: They are responsible for controlling the shipping department’s budget, negotiating transportation costs with carriers, and ensuring that operations remain within budget
Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service is crucial, as the manager must address any shipping-related issues and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers
Qualification
Required
Three (3) or more years of warehouse management experience in a high volume, automated distribution environment
Ability to lead by example, mentor, develop, and foster a team environment
Ability to understand and demonstrate proper technical, equipment, and systems processes
Ability to work any shift
Strong organizational and communication skills
