Prototyping & Fabrication Engineer
On-Board Services is a contract service provider for a local manufacturing entity, and they are seeking a Prototyping & Fabrication Engineer. This role involves developing advanced fabrication methods, leading fabrication efforts on critical projects, and supporting testing and characterization of fabricated products.

Responsibilities
Specialize in prototyping and fabrication techniques, including development of advanced or non-standard methods for unique applications
Perform hands-on laboratory work requiring creative thinking and problem solving in a fast-paced applications engineering environment
Lead and execute fabrication projects involving 3D printing, CNC milling, large-format routing, and lamination
Collaborate closely with engineers and technical specialists across optical, thermal, and mechanical characterization efforts
Conduct basic data analysis and apply statistical methods as needed
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse team
Qualification
Required
B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent machinist-focused curriculum with significant hands-on training
Preferred
1–3 years of hands-on experience working in a laboratory environment with fabrication or prototyping equipment
Experience using basic shop tools
Experience operating CNC mills and 3D printers
Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks), including creation of professional engineering drawings
Experience with materials characterization and metrology equipment (e.g., stress-strain testers, confocal microscopes)
