Metrology Technician II - 3rd Shift
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, a leader in the business jet aircraft industry, is seeking a Metrology Technician II for their 3rd shift operations. The role involves performing technical work related to gathering accurate 3D data for aircraft tooling and conducting measurement studies on in-process or completed aircraft.

Responsibilities
Perform periodic inspections to ensure compliance per FAA requirements and approved quality procedures
Provide assistance tooling mechanics to set or reset tooling details during periodic inspections or tooling installations
Conduct measurement studies on in-process or completed aircraft based on planned schedules or un-planned demand
Coordinate with operations to schedule inspections that will have minimal impact on aircraft production
Utilize Metrologic model based inspection processes within CATIA V5, gather 3D inspection data and provide basic real time analysis
Assist in the development and documentation of standards for the handling and utilization of metrology equipment
Set up and utilize precision measuring tools; validates measurement results for accuracy and repeatability
Ensure proper use and storage of tools, equipment and supplies. Advise management of any associated problems or other requirements
Actively works to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets customer requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED required
4 years Laser Tracker, Laser Radar or CMM experience
2 years Metrologic and CATIA V5 experience
Must be proficient in reading and interpreting aircraft & tooling designs
Must possess strong computer and shop math skills
Valid Driver's License required
This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Preferred
Skills with scanning or laser trackers a plus
Ability to operate Metrolog X4 or X4V5 software preferred but other metrology software such as Spatial Analyzer, Verisurf, Geomagic, etc. are acceptable as well
2 years tool fabrication, jig building, or machine shop experience preferred
