Payroll Analyst

They are seeking a Payroll Analyst responsible for performing payroll functions for US and Canadian payroll, including advanced analytical support, payroll input validation, and serving as a subject-matter expert for complex payroll issues.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced analytical support for biweekly payroll transmits, including pre- and post-audits, file upload monitoring, error resolution, and payroll total validation
Collect, review, and validate payroll inputs such as timekeeping adjustments, bonuses, incentives, supplemental payments, and deductions
Serve as a subject-matter expert for complex payroll issues, managing level 3 escalations and high-risk cases
Reconcile and audit payroll-related transactions, investigate variances, and coach Payroll Specialists on corrective actions and best practices
Troubleshoot and resolve complex employee pay inquiries with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
Provide ongoing training and knowledge-sharing to the payroll team on existing processes and evolving compliance requirements
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies resulting from payroll transmits
Develop, maintain, and update payroll process documentation and standard operating procedures
Support the integration of new payroll services, including analysis, configuration, testing, documentation, and delivery of training and support materials
Maintain and continuously improve payroll processing checklists to ensure accuracy and compliance
Partner with cross-functional teams to support payroll system maintenance and enhancements
Administer and maintain payroll reports, dashboards, and key metrics

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
3–5 years of progressive experience in multi-state payroll processing, including payroll tax and garnishment administration
Strong knowledge of HR and payroll regulations, including FLSA, wage and hour laws, payroll tax compliance, taxable benefits, final pay, and pay statement requirements
Advanced understanding of complex gross-to-net payroll calculations
Hands-on experience with computerized payroll and timekeeping systems
Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and effectively train others on new or enhanced procedures
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to all levels of the organization
High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

Preferred

UKG Pro experience strongly preferred
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation or equivalent advanced payroll compliance experience
Experience supporting payroll system implementations or integrations
