Responsibilities

Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting
Writes secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
Contribute to the engineering of application infrastructure that can be deployed seamlessly on AWS or private cloud, ensuring portability, scalability, and reliability, and cost efficiency across multi-cloud platforms
Design and develop new features and enhancements for enterprise applications, leveraging the latest advancements in Java technologies
Assist in resolving, deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes, supporting both AWS and private cloud environments with application infrastructures and feature issues, including root cause analysis remediation
Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation, and support CI/CD pipeline integration with automating deployment processes for multi-cloud environments
Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, and/or equivalent tools, adaptable to multiple cloud platforms
Follow best practices for cloud, container, and application security, data protection, and compliance with internal and external
Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development
Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems while working closely with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver robust, flexible cloud solutions and application features
Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
Demonstrable hands on ability to code in one or more languages and frameworks (i.e., Java, Terraform, Containers, etc.)
Must have experience in building and managing scalable, cloud-agnostic environments (AWS and/or private cloud)
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
Understands and has experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, AWS Code Pipeline, etc.)
Good understanding of networking, security, and cloud/container/application architecture best practices
Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

Preferred

Exposure to cloud technologies
AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar certification
Experience with hybrid cloud environments and cloud migration strategies
Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
Exposure to financial services or other highly regulated industries
