Responsibilities
Set clear goals, developing plans and tactics to deliver key performance indicators and operational productivity
Evaluate production line capacity to allow for accurate standards
Evaluate processes and procedures and propose improvement ideas
Strategically partners with the site maintenance department for ongoing production needs
Champion employee safety and food safety programs drive a solid culture within the department
Lead a culture that engages production employees at all levels towards performance, efficiency and cost improvement
Ensure accurate and reliable production performance reporting
Identify skills gaps across the team and implement training and coaching programs to develop employees, build expertise and close gaps
Manage and control labor cost to include direct labor, changeovers, overtime, optimized scheduling and crewing rotations for the production team
Manage and control material cost to include waste, scrap, usages, cycles and product overweight
Maintain a clean, organized, uncluttered and safe work environment, ready for safety, food safety and customer quality audits
Selection of all new hires for the production department ensuring proper training
