Program Manager Tech

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Program Manager Tech in Chicago, IL. The role involves managing small-to-medium projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets, and coordinating with stakeholders to drive the identification and remediation of vulnerabilities in data center equipment designs and technologies.

Responsibilities

Manage small-to-medium projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets
Coordinate, plan, schedule, and supervise CE audits and compliance verifications
Identify and address vulnerabilities, recommending new equipment designs and technologies for efficiency projects
Coordinate with stakeholders to drive identification and remediation of vulnerabilities and provide recommendations on new data center equipment designs, technologies, and construction methods
Coordinate projects, develop detailed plans, and integrate technical activities to achieve goals
Present and explain proposals, reports, and findings to management effectively
Review and recommend/approve contracts and cost estimates
Serve as the primary liaison for all operations-related queries and issues during design and construction phases
Lead end-to-end oversight of new data center builds from an operations perspective, providing crucial input and oversight
Ensure timely and comprehensive responses to RFIs affecting operations, minimizing disruptions, and enhancing clarity
Implement Quality Assurance/Quality Control processes to address post-Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and turnover issues, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results
Coordinate with various stakeholders on ongoing changes, issues, challenges, and lessons learned, ensuring alignment with approved Plans of Record (POR)
Manage turnover deliverables and address post-turnover issues, including warranty and defects management, and tracking of Technical Support Bulletins (TSBs)
Participate in operational advisory committees (OAC), Go/No-Go decisions, and design calls as representatives of the operations team
Conduct L2, L3, L4, Post-IST, and turnover walks to verify operational readiness and compliance with Microsoft Operations processes

Required

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
Technical College degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field
All candidates must hold an OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E
Applicable certifications: ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications, PMP, ITIL, CDCP
5+ years of work/applied learning experience in technical fields (e.g.: automotive, electrical, controls, data center) or 5+ years of industry experience and college course work
5+ years of experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU) or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling)
Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Able to work a flexible work schedule which could include 12-hour shifts, rotating shifts, 3-, 4-, or 5-day work weeks
