Responsibilities
You will provide security and family support to the Marines assigned to Basic Recruiters Course, Career Planners Course and Prior Service Recruiters Course
You will review status of security clearances and initiate ones for those without them
You will assist and issue Marines who arrive to the schoolhouse without security clearances in filling out their electronic questionnaires for investigations processing
You will review and submits requests for personnel clearances for serviced military personnel
You will act as the primary point of contact regarding the status of all pending clearances, current security clearance status, or questions on security clearance procedures
You will provide information to the unit serviced or the subject of the investigation as to the appeals process if the investigating agency denies the security clearance
You will review and maintain a files for status of pending investigations as seen in Joint Personnel Adjudication System /Defense Information System for Security current status of all members
You will notify the units of individuals requiring reinvestigation and resubmission of documentation
You will provide instruction or presentations to unit administrators and/or unit security managers on documentation requirements and regulations, policies, and procedures to be followed
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing the status of all pending clearances, current security clearance status, and questions on security clearance procedures and guidelines
A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education
Preferred
master's or equivalent graduate degree
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
LL.B. or J.D., if related
