Fraud Intelligence Analyst

Responsibilities
Monitor Fraud Activity: You’ll continuously scan all product types and channels to identify unusual patterns, detect emerging risks, and elevate insights that matter
Analyze Data for Action: You’ll interpret large, diverse data sets to uncover root causes, highlight gaps, and surface opportunities to reduce fraud exposure
Develop Reporting Tools: You’ll help build and maintain dashboards and reporting that make fraud performance easy to track, understand, and act on
Deliver Clear Findings: You’ll prepare meaningful updates and intelligence for Fraud Intelligence leadership to support timely, informed decisions
Partner Across the Business: You’ll work closely with Fraud, Digital, Product, and Governance teams—as well as third‑party solution providers—to strengthen our tools and detection models
Support Solution Enhancements: You’ll participate in discussions and calibration sessions to evaluate current and potential fraud‑mitigation tactics and help implement the right solutions
Evaluate Vendor Performance: You’ll monitor the effectiveness of fraud detection vendors and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and reduce losses
Track & Refine Models: You’ll provide ongoing monitoring of fraud models and tools to ensure they perform optimally and adapt to evolving threats
Adhere to Standards: You’ll model BECU competencies while meeting compliance, regulatory, and information‑protection requirements
Support Broader Team Needs: You’ll take on additional responsibilities as needed to advance BECU’s fraud‑prevention mission
Qualification
Required
Bachelors' degree in business administration, statistics, related field or equivalent work or educational experience required
Typically of two years of experience in fraud investigations and analysis, experience disparate data sets to detect and investigate anomalies, developing actionable insights, developing strategy, or equivalent work or educational experience required
PC skills (MS Office), working knowledge of reporting software and database querying tools, and the ability to learn new software
Full time hours required with additional hours as necessary
Preferred
Experience specifically detecting and analyzing fraud, abuse, or other unlawful activity in a large-scale financial system, identity system, advertising platform, and/or comparable environment is strongly preferred
Verbal and written communication, and presentations skills to include the ability to explain findings and recommendations clearly and succinctly to a diverse array of audiences
