Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer utilizes engineering methodology to support program launch readiness, production planning, and continuous improvement, ensuring optimal levels of safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.

Responsibilities
Development, review, maintenance, and control of engineering documentation. Including TDP (Technical Data Package), Bill of Material, Process Flow / Routings, Floor Layouts, PFMEA, and Work Instructions
Provide support to estimating on quoting
Develop and validate processes and processing times / standards
Support lessons learned activities and implementation into quotes and standards
Identification of tooling needs. Assistance in tool conceptualization
Support manufacturing with process and document interpretation
Identify and address opportunities to eliminate waste within the manufacturing process
Participate in cost reduction efforts and support/implement continuous improvement activities
Work with Quality and Weld departments to ensure validation checks are built into the process
Support corrective actions as required
Support Program Management in APQP activities, as well as project cost adherence
Consult with customers, and provide expertise, to maximize the integrity, efficiency, and manufacturability of designs on new and existing projects
Provide floor support during trouble shooting activities
Assist with customer activities/support as requested
Qualification
Required
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, models, drawings and technical specifications
Extensive working knowledge of manufacturing practices in a diverse range of processes
Extensive knowledge of process flows, material flow, assistive tooling devices
Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast paced and varying environment
Ability to work well with others in a team environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to apply problem solving tools and methodology to a variety of manufacturing and business process issues
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram format
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability displayed and accuracy of work produced, meeting company standards, and requiring little to no rework
Searches out new tasks and expands their ability to perform assigned tasks without direct supervision
Punctuality and attendance
Willingness and cooperativeness with co-workers and supervisors; ability to accept constructive criticism
Follow quality and environmental policies; knowledge of AS9100 and IS14001 preferred
Follow safety procedures, security protocol, and wear proper PPE
Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other Engineering field and five (5) years manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
GD&T experience required
Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing
Preferred
2+ years of fabrication/machining and metal experience along with program/project management experience preferred
Experience with precision measuring equipment helpful
Military background or experience preferred
Project management experience
Proficiency in 3D modeling software
