As a Design Engineer focused on Life Cycle Assessment, you will serve as a technical bridge between design engineering and sustainability initiatives, supporting product designs for datacenters.
Design
Responsibilities
LCA Data Orchestration: Vetting, aggregating, and disseminating appropriate product models, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and technical design documentation to external LCA vendors. Design data in a variety of formats including 3D BIM and MCAD
LCA Quality Assurance: Reviewing and providing initial QA of LCA data. You will identify and resolve common modeling discrepancies, such as ensuring equipment and hollow objects are not incorrectly modeled as solids, which can skew mass-based impact data
Architectural Takeoffs: Reviewing and providing initial QA of equipment counts and material takeoffs based on an understanding of system architecture
Strategic Support: Providing general support for the global LCA team, including data analysis, technical data edits, dash-boarding, and report generation to communicate environmental performance
Qualification
Required
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
Proficiency in MCAD (SolidWorks, CATIA, or DELMIA) and/or BIM (Revit) tools
Strong attention to detail regarding BOM accuracy and geometric modeling integrity
Knowledge of LCA workflows and an interest in how 'digital twins' facilitate environmental accounting in capital projects
