HR Technician I
The N.C. Department of Transportation is seeking a highly motivated individual to join their Human Resources team. The HR Technician I will assist Division 8 employees in qualification and salary administration, ensuring compliance with hiring practices and conducting orientation for new hires.

Responsibilities
Review applications to determine qualification status of applicants
Review hiring packages to ensure compliance with merit-based hiring practices
Review salary recommendations to ensure compliance with salary administration policies
Conduct orientation and on-boarding for new hires
Post positions in the Workday system
Interpret and apply personnel and departmental policies to address issues regarding hiring packages and actions
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree, typically in Human Resources from an appropriately accredited institution or relevant field and no years of experience required; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 2 years of progressive experience in Human Resources
Experience and technical skills to independently and accurately process, retrieve, or reference personnel data from a Human Resources Information System or database system such as SAP and/or FIORI
Experience exercising judgment and discretion in the application and interpretation of personnel policies and procedures
Experience completing hiring packages using salary administration rules
Working knowledge of an applicant tracking systems such as NeoGov or Workday
