IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/SYSADMIN) (TITLE 32)

Responsibilities
Serve as an advisor to the Supervisory Logistics Information Technology (LIT) Specialist (SASMO) and Systems Administrator on all Combat Service Support (CSS) Automated Logistics Systems and Programs
Exercise knowledge and oversight for all matters pertaining to the fielding and operation of Automated Logistics System and Programs
Utilize an extensive knowledge of logistics programs/operations and a clear understanding of automated systems to manage projects and programs for systems integration of CSS automation
Identify funding requirements to support SASMO operations, justify and submit budget requirements for State operating budget, and execute funds received
Act as the technical expert within the state/territory responsible for providing technical and functional guidance for serviced Automated Logistics Systems and Programs
Serve as project leader/supervisor responsible for developing, assigning, and coordinating duties and projects for LIT systems administrators
Serve as the senior LIT systems administrator responsible for planning, coordinating, modifying, implementing, and troubleshooting to support customer needs
Review SASMO Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure they are current (i.e., help desk, repair operations, etc.)
Evaluate trouble tickets escalated from the help desk, setting priorities on a weekly and monthly basis
Coordinate automation initiatives with State G6 and G3 elements
Operate as the Quality Control Specialist for the Quality Control Program and Quality Control Plan
Oversee a variety of studies, analyses, and reports regarding the integrity of all LIT systems
Conduct quality inspections, customer feedback, and continuous improvement initiatives associated with the Quality Control Plan
Qualification
Required
Successful completion of a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree for GS09
Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree for GS11
Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks
Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience, education, or training receiving, maintaining, and issuing data storage media for computer operations for GS09
Experience in scheduling the use of computer time for program processing
Experience collecting and sequentially staging input media with associated program instructions for processing
Experience in at least one programming language
Experience interviewing subject-matter personnel to get facts regarding work processes and synthesizing the resulting data into charts showing information flow
Experience in analysis of the interrelationship of pertinent components of the system
Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment
Experience scheduling the sequence of programs to be processed by computers where alternatives had to be weighed with a view to production efficiency
Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-09 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization for GS11
Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls
Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment
Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion
This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform
Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service
Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
This position is categorized as IAT Level II IAW DOD 8570.01. Selectee must obtain required formal training within 6 months of hire date
