Responsibilities

Plan weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations
Establishes deadlines and priorities based on established general schedules, methods and policies
Determines skills, materials and equipment required to do the work and participates in the initial planning of current and future work schedules and development of budget requests
Provides workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations for the scheduling of projected work
Assigns tasks to be performed
Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures
Instructs subordinates on new procedures or methods and provides assistance on difficult or new problem areas
Reviews work in progress or on completion
Makes adjustments as necessary to effectively and economically accomplish the work
Notes and investigates work related problems and independently implements corrective actions which can be taken without affecting work operations controlled by other supervisors
Assures that equipment and materiel is available when needed
Coordinates work with other units

This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement
Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform
Security Clearance requirements are determined by position and/or MOS/AFSC compatibility
Participation in direct deposit is mandatory
May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service
Experience or training which demonstrates the applicant's ability to repair malfunctions of ordnance equipment and components
Ability to use sketches, electrical diagrams, technical specifications and engineering drawings
Experience which demonstrates skill in the use of test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic checks
Must have at least 36 months of experience or training in planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modification, repair and installation of ordnance systems
Experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedy where complex relationships exist
Experience in hand tools and a limited number of measuring equipment
Experience in the use of a variety of test equipment
Experience in interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications
Experience demonstrating the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments of lower grade personnel
Experience which required the review of work requirements and establishing priorities to meet deadlines
Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function
Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes
Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations
