Responsibilities
Analyze aircraft performance problems for transport-category aircraft within the NC3 business area
Plan, execute, and report aircraft performance analysis to support engineering teams and program objectives
Present engineering findings to internal teams, leadership, and customers
Assist with wind tunnel test planning, execution, and reporting
Support flight test planning and data reduction activities
Develop aircraft performance models to assess mission system impacts
Collaborate within multi-disciplinary design and development teams throughout the product lifecycle
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline (higher education may substitute for experience)
10+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, aircraft performance, or related fields
Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Experience generating aircraft performance estimates from handbook methods, computational data, and/or test data
Experience reducing wind tunnel and flight test data to demonstrate compliance with regulatory guidance
Familiarity with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Proven ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance
Preferred
Experience with aircraft stability, control systems, CFD/VLM tools, and 14 CFR Part 25 TC/STC compliance
