Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Facilities Management, Real Estate, Construction, or a related field; OR an equivalent combination of education, certification, and progressively responsible experience in property, facilities, or real estate management. (Examples include a current California contractor's license, RPA/CPM certification, or 5+ years of directly related experience.)
Experience processing and tracking financial transactions linked to leases, such as rent, operating expenses, taxes, and project-related charges
Working knowledge of lease agreements, landlord and tenant responsibilities, and basic real estate administration in a healthcare, university, or institutional setting
Experience coordinating compliance activities such as fire life safety documentation, inspections, or facility-related regulatory requirements, including tracking deficiencies and supporting corrective actions
Familiarity with building systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) sufficient to interpret maintenance responsibilities and communicate with landlords and service providers
Experience reviewing work orders, verifying account coding, and following institutional financial procedures
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities
Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact with landlords, departments, and internal partners with professionalism and discretion
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint) to prepare reports, track data, and communicate with stakeholders
Ability to work independently under general direction, apply sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality in a complex operational environment

Preferred

Professional certification in real estate, property, or facilities management (e.g., RPA, CPM, FMP), or progress toward certification
Academic Medical Facility experience
Experience working in a public-sector, higher education, or healthcare real estate environment
Experience coordinating with architects, inspectors, engineers, contractors, or regulatory agencies
Experience supporting or maintaining compliance or inspection programs across multiple leased facilities
Familiarity with UC policies or other large institutional procedures related to leasing, finance, contracting, or compliance
Knowledge of regulatory standards such as Joint Commission, Title 22, ADA, NFPA, NEC, or California Building Code
