Provide design parameters (codecs, SIP settings, QoS) and validate accuracy of outsourced implementation
Coordinate complex troubleshooting and ensure critical features like IVR, call recording, and E911 meet requirements
Monitor MOS, jitter, packet loss, and call logs to diagnose and resolve voice issues
Collaborate with network teams to enforce QoS and optimize routing for voice quality
Analyze logs and user reports to tune codecs, adjust configurations, and resolve issues
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience in voice over IP (VoIP) and telephony systems engineering, with progressively increasing responsibility with CCNP-level knowledge
Deep technical expertise in voice architecture (e.g., POTS-in-a-Box, PBX/VoIP systems, SIP)
Experience integrating voice systems with cloud platforms like Azure or M365
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred (or equivalent work experience)
Demonstrate deep expertise in enterprise voice technologies, including SIP trunking, SBC configuration (AudioCodes, Cisco CUBE), VoIP PBX systems, such as Cisco CUCM, and legacy protocols like H.323, MGCP, and TDM integration
Understand Microsoft Teams Voice architecture—including Direct Routing, Call Queues, and Auto Attendants—and how it connects to the PSTN through SBCs or Calling Plans
Ensure voice solutions meet security and regulatory requirements by implementing encrypted signaling/media (SIP TLS, SRTP) and maintaining compliance with standards such as E911 and call‑recording laws
Possess strong knowledge of voice‑related networking and QoS requirements, ensuring prioritized voice traffic across LAN/WLAN/SD‑WAN and collaborating with network teams to resolve latency, bandwidth, and firewall/NAT issues that impact call quality
Develop roadmaps and scalable designs supporting growth and lifecycle management
Maintain diagrams, inventories, IP schemas, and failover documentation with accurate updates
Document voice architecture, SIP trunks, dial plans, routing, and major system configs
Define and enforce standards, templates, and naming conventions across all deployments
