Avionics Systems Design and Analysis Engineer (Experienced, Senior or Principal)
Millennium Space Systems, a part of Boeing, is seeking an Avionics Systems Design and Analysis Engineer to ensure the safety and reliability of their Out of Production fleet. The role involves leading the design, integration, and testing of Avionics systems, managing supplier activities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet technical performance requirements.

Responsibilities
Lead and manage the design, integration and test of Avionics systems for the OoP fleet
Lead functional analysis of complex requirements into subsystem architectures, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
Manage requirements and provide evidence of requirement verification and validation
Manage and lead Avionics systems supplier activities that include requirement definition and validation, documentation review and processing, design analysis, qualification testing, and certification coordination
Coordinate and lead subsystem integration, testing (lab, ground and flight) and certification of Avionics systems
Work with and possibly direct cross-functional teams to ensure Avionics systems meets or exceed technical performance requirements and qualification test requirements
Manage Avionics supplier schedule events and integrate product development schedules with OoP program milestones
Collaborate with inter-organizational personnel and external customers. Provide solutions to difficult technical issues associated with Avionics systems
Present requirements, design and/or development revisions and changes to formal change boards
Develop and implement product/process improvements
Coordinate with service engineering counterparts for design changes to out of production aircraft
Support System Safety Analysis Documentation, including the creation of Fault Hazard Assessments (FHAs), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), Fault Tree Analysis
Assesses complex system events to determine potential safety issues, utilizing airplane function integration at the system and component level
Become a subject matter expert in Avionics systems qualification, physical and functional integration and installation design
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
3+ years of experience working with or on an engineering team
1+ years of experience working in a multi-disciplined Systems Engineering environment
Experience working in a cross functional team environment and have good verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
10+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Master's Degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry
1+ years of experience being a team leader
1+ years of experience with engineering disciplines related to systems within Avionics, including but are not limited to Autoflight, Flight Management, Communications, Guidance and Navigation, Displays, TCAS, FDRS, Aircraft Condition Monitoring Systems (ACMS)
Knowledge of Boeing design, certification, and engineering principles
Ability to work with multiple team functions
Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience
