Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and execute multiple end to end live and virtual events that advance the mission of the Hussman School of Journalism and Media
Partner closely with the Dean’s Office and Development Office to manage all logistical aspects of on campus and off campus events
Coordinate catering and facility arrangements, manage technology needs, ensure compliance with university purchasing policies, and oversee seating, setup, and general logistics
Manage event budgets to facilitate efficient and cost effective programs, track attendance, provide post event follow up, and maintain accurate records
Leverage exceptional organizational skills, combined with a keen attention to detail, to ensure the flawless planning and execution of all events
Monitor school owned supplies and maintain a comprehensive database of venues, vendors, caterers, and other service providers
Develop and implement standardized processes and procedures for event planning, supporting clear communication, scheduling, travel coordination, and guest experience
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience
Experience in organizing and coordinating events
Outstanding organizational skills
Superb communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams and/or Zoom
Ability to spend extended periods of time in front of the computer with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and regularly move/maneuver between and throughout campus buildings with or without reasonable accommodation
